Abandoned Inn
For those of you who do not know, and for those who do, the road to Page, Arizona is both beautiful and boring. Majority of the drive is fields that go on for miles, but every now and then there will be a group of houses, local shops, and a motel. Some of it is a little sad because they are abandoned, but even then they are pretty interesting.
One of my favorite things about being on the road is that you never know what you are going to see. The best parts of a road trip, is stopping along towards your destination. That, in my opinion, is the only true way to experience a road trip. Sure it will take a while, but why wonder when you can wander.
This abandoned inn in particular caught my eye. I wish I remember the name, but I am glad that it stuck with me. The teal framing of the buildings made this inn stick out against the plain. The wooden porches and tiled sidewalk give this little place character. I would love to know the sad story as to why this place is abandoned, but the mystery adds to its qorky appeal.
My advice to all of you getting ready for a roadtrip. Long or short, make sure to stop at something that catches your eye.
Experience it. Explore it.
You never know what you might discover, and that is the true beauty of wandering.
